# Google Chat

This integration allows you to route notifications about issues, changes, and other events to Google Chat.

### Register Incoming Webhook with Google Chat

1. Log into [Google Chat](https://chat.google.com/)
2. Go to the space where you want to receive messages
3. Cick the expand more arrow, and then click **Apps & integrations**
4. Click **Add webhooks**
5. In the **Name** field, enter a name like `Halo Security Webhook`
6. \[Optional] Add an Avatar URL:\
   `https://cdn.halosecurity.com/static/img/halo-security-icon.png`
7. Click **Save**
8. Click the three dot icons next to the the new webhook you created, then click **Copy link**

### Connect Google Chat

* Visit your *Settings → Integrations →* [Add](https://app.halosecurity.com/user/settings/integrations/add)
* Add the Google Chat integration
* Enter a name for the integration
* Paste the webhook link URL you generated in Google Chat
* Click **Add**

### Create Additional Profiles

The initial webhook URL you entered will automatically create a profile. You can create multiple profiles to route different events to different spaces.

To view and create additional profiles:

1. Navigate to the **Profiles** tab
2. Click the **+** icon
3. Enter a name for the profile
4. Enter the Google Chat webhook URL where messages should be sent
5. Click **Save**

### Create Event Rules

To receive Google Chat messages, create Event Rules and add your Google Chat profile as an action. Visit *Events →* [Event Rules](https://app.halosecurity.com/user/settings/event-rules/) to set up rules that determine which events trigger messages in Google Chat.
